Terms of Service
Welcome to ShipCred. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you (“you”, “Maker”, or “user”) and Veeraj Jain, a sole proprietor operating as “ShipCred” (“ShipCred”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), governing your access to and use of the website at shipcred.app and all related services (the “Service”).
By creating an account, submitting a product, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Definitions
- Content — anything you submit: product names, taglines, descriptions, logos, screenshots, links, profile details, and any other material.
- Maker Profile — your public page and the products, upvotes, and track record associated with it.
- PRO — a paid subscription unlocking additional features.
- Featured — a one-time paid placement promoting a single product for a limited period.
- Founding Member — a status and badge described in Section 7.
- Dodo — Dodo Payments, our third-party payment processor and merchant of record.
2. Eligibility & accounts
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. ShipCred is not intended for and may not be used by anyone under 18. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you may bind it.
2.2 One account per person. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
2.3 You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current.
3. The Service
3.1 ShipCred is a maker portfolio and product-discovery platform. Makers create profiles, submit products, upvote and follow one another, and build a public track record.
3.2 We may change, suspend, add, or remove features at any time. We may impose or change limits on the Service. We will try to give notice of material changes but are not obligated to.
3.3 The Service is provided for lawful use only. We do not guarantee that any product, profile, or maker on the Service is legitimate, accurate, or safe — makers submit their own Content and you deal with them at your own risk.
4. Free tier & limits
4.1 A free account may publish up to 3 active products. PRO and Founding members may publish more, subject to any fair-use limits we set.
4.2 We may change free-tier limits at any time. Reducing a limit will not delete Content already published, but may prevent new submissions until you are within the limit or upgrade.
5. Subscriptions, billing & auto-renewal
5.1 Merchant of record. Payments are processed by Dodo, which acts as the merchant of record and the seller of record for your purchase. Dodo's name may appear on your statement and receipt, and Dodo collects and remits any applicable taxes. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo's own terms.
5.2 Plans and prices. Current plans and prices — PRO monthly US$9, PRO yearly US$89, and the Founding annual plan US$59 (Section 7) — are shown at checkout and on the pricing page. Prices are in US Dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise.
5.3 Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price for your plan, and your payment method is charged automatically, until you cancel. By subscribing you authorise these recurring charges.
5.4 Free trial. If you start a 14-day PRO free trial, we (via Dodo) collect your payment method at signup but do not charge you during the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged the then-current price. One trial per account, ever.
5.5 Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard(“Manage or cancel anytime”), which opens the secure Dodo billing portal. If the portal is unavailable, email support@shipcred.app and we will cancel for you. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not retroactively refund the current period (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy). You keep paid features until the end of the paid period.
5.6 Price changes. We may change subscription prices. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a change affects your renewal, and the new price applies only from your next renewal. Continued use after the change takes effect is acceptance.
5.7 Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry, downgrade you to the free tier, or suspend paid features.
5.8 Taxes. Prices may be exclusive of taxes; any taxes Dodo is required to collect are added at checkout.
6. Featured placements
6.1 Featured is a one-time purchase that places a single product in a promotional position (the Featured rail and a newsletter mention) for 7 days. The price is US$19, or US$12 for active PRO subscribers.
6.2 What you are buying is placement, not results. We do not promise, and expressly disclaim, any particular number of views, clicks, upvotes, signups, sales, or other outcomes from a Featured placement.
6.3 Non-refundable once live. Because a Featured placement is delivered immediately and consumed over its window, it is non-refundable once the placement begins, except where required by law.
6.4 We may decline or remove a Featured placement for any product that violates these Terms, and will refund the unused portion if we remove it for reasons not attributable to you.
7. Founding Member status
7.1 What it is. The first 100 makers to purchase a PRO subscription on any plan (monthly, yearly, or the Founding annual plan) receive Founding Member status and a permanent, numbered badge. Founding Member status is limited to 100 makers in total.
7.2 Permanence of the badge. Once granted, the Founding Member badge is permanent and is retained even if your PRO subscription later lapses or is cancelled.
7.3 The locked-in rate. Founding Members who purchase the Founding annual plan lock in a rate of US$59/year instead of the standard US$89/year. This locked rate applies only for so long as your subscription remains continuously active. If you cancel and later re-subscribe, the locked founding rate no longer applies and you will be charged the then-current standard price for your plan. You keep your numbered Founding Member badge permanently regardless (see Section 7.2).
7.4 The cap. If the 100-member cap is reached, later purchasers still receive PRO but do not receive the Founding badge or the locked rate. We determine the order of seats by the time a payment successfully completes.
7.5 If the Service ends. Founding Member status does not create any perpetual obligation. If we discontinue the Service or the Founding programme, our only obligation is any refund required by the Refund & Cancellation Policy or by law.
8. Refunds & cancellation
Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. In summary: subscriptions may be cancelled anytime to stop future renewals; Featured placements are non-refundable once live; other refunds are at our discretion or as required by law.
9. Your Content & the licence you grant us
9.1 You own your Content. We claim no ownership of the products, text, logos, or images you submit.
9.2 Licence to us. By submitting Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for formatting/sizing), and promote your Content in connection with operating and marketing the Service — including in the ShipCred directory, leaderboard, weekly newsletter/digest, auto-generated share cards, and our social media channels. This licence lasts while your Content is on the Service and for a reasonable period afterward for backups and records.
9.3 Your promises about Content.You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to your Content, that it is accurate and not misleading, and that it does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.
9.4 Removal. You can remove your Content by deleting the relevant product or account. Removal does not affect copies already included in past newsletters, social posts, or backups.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit Content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, malicious (malware, phishing, scams), adult, hateful, or that promotes such;
- misrepresent yourself, your product, or your affiliation;
- interfere with, disrupt, scrape, or place undue load on the Service;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or areas you are not authorised to;
- use the Service to spam or harvest others' data;
- resell or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted.
11. Ranking & voting integrity
11.1 ShipCred's rankings depend on honest participation. You agree not to:
- create or use multiple, duplicate, fake, or bot accounts;
- manipulate upvotes, follows, or rankings — including vote rings, buying/selling/trading votes, incentivised voting, or coordinated inauthentic activity;
- use automation to interact with the Service.
11.2 Our remedies. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, void or recalculate votes and rankings, remove badges (including Founding status obtained through violation), unlist products, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Section. No refund is due when we terminate or suspend your account for violation of this Section.
12. Our intellectual property
The Service — including the ShipCred name, logo, design, code, and the compiled directory/leaderboard data — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. Except for your own Content and the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, we grant you no rights in our intellectual property.
13. Third-party services & links
13.1 The Service relies on third parties including Supabase, Vercel, Dodo Payments, Resend, PostHog, Sentry. Your use may be subject to their terms.
13.2 Products and profiles link to third-party websites we do not control. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party sites, products, or content. You access them at your own risk.
14. Moderation, suspension & termination
14.1 Our discretion. We may review, reject, edit (for formatting), unlist, or remove any Content, and may suspend or terminate any account, at our sole discretion, with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or other users.
14.2 Your right to leave. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
14.3 Effect of termination. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. licences you granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.
15. Disclaimers
15.1 The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any result will be achieved.
15.2 We are a platform. We do not vouch for any maker, product, or Content, and are not a party to any dealing between users.
16. Limitation of liability
16.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service.
16.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50.
16.3 Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those, the above apply to the fullest extent permitted.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
18. Copyright complaints, takedown & Grievance Officer
18.1 Takedown. If you believe Content on the Service infringes your rights, contact us at support@shipcred.app with: your contact details, identification of the work and the infringing material (URL), a good-faith statement, and a statement that your notice is accurate. We will review and may remove the Content. A person whose Content is removed may submit a counter-notice.
18.2 Grievance Officer (India). In compliance with applicable Indian law, our Grievance Officer is: Veeraj Jain, email support@shipcred.app. We will acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and endeavour to resolve them within 15 days.
19. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, give notice (e.g. by email or an in-app notice). Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
21. Governing law & disputes
21.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
21.2 Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have, the courts at Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.
